about

“Dan Petrich has been writing and performing folk music in the Pittsburgh area for over a decade. On his latest album, he complements his solitary folk earthiness with harmonizing guest singers, perfectly placed percussion, haunting pedal steel guitar, and even field recordings to bring to life a musical vision entitled Of Devils, Gods, and Men. At times a foot-tapping, Travis picking, musical locomotive and at other times a gentle, contemplative lullaby, this collection of songs is in every way a journey into the highs and lows, the mystery and clarity, of being human. Always a hallmark of Petrich’s music is his intensely personal lyrics, and this new album highlights his ability to blend stories of personal doubt, fear, and questioning with the reassurance of love, family, and faith. What’s left with the listener at the end of the album is best described as catharsis – an odyssey through the deepest dark and the brightest light, and a discovery of solace somewhere in the gray area in between. Of Devils, Gods, and Men indeed." -Ben Minett
